From dinner celebrating signing with an agent.
Hail the muse! (I don’t know what this has to do with writing, but my friend said this photo makes me look active and Asian)
I’m Sophia! I was born in NYC, graduated Harvard at 20, and worked as a film and TV actor—and yes, I am the world’s first iPod silhouette model.
I then vanished into obscurity and did what any unemployable artist would: wedding choreographing, pitbull fostering, running Wise Child Admissions Coaching...until I lost my eyesight and mobility to the rare chronic illness MOGAD (a terribly-named disease similar to MS). Because I’m an overachiever like that.
Today, I write emotionally raw romance and speculative/fantasy about misfits searching for found family. Books that make you laugh while emotionally gutting you. Like life—with hotter guys.
I teach Character First writing with Daniel David Wallace, coach new podcasters, and host The Sophia Chang Show. I’m a Reese’s Book Club LitUp Fellow represented by Holly Root at Root Literary.
As the philosopher Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino once said: “The comeback is greater than the setback.”
And also: “The cabs are here.” — DJ Pauly D.
